And this ignited a long-burning firestorm of controversy, where many have accused the bestselling author of being transphobic, or a TERF, which stands for ‘trans-exclusionary radical feminist.’ At any rate, JK Rowling doubled-down on her stance, and wrote an essay about it on her website. Although this has arguably been the most controversial year for JK Rowling, it hasn’t put a damper on her epic fortune. She made $60 million dollars in 2024 alone, and her overall net worth is an alleged $1.2 billion dollars.
4. Taylor Swift ($63 million dollars)

The tour lasted from March 2019 to December 2019 and was attended by over a million people. The Sweetener tour grossed $146 million dollars.
Ariana Grande also has many endorsements and advertising deals. She is a brand ambassador for Reebok and also has a line of perfumes.

Another star who had a controversial year in 2024 is Ellen Degeneres. Ellen came under fire after multiple allegations emerged of being rude to staffers and creating a “hostile” work environment. Multiple clips resurfaced of Ellen reportedly being rude to her celebrity guests. Kylie Jenner earned a staggering $590 million dollars in 2024. The majority of this wealth came from a deal between Kylie and Coty Cosmetics. The young mogul sold 51% of Kylie Cosmetics to Coty for an estimated $540 million dollars.
As one of the most followed celebrities on Instagram, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner brood is the highest paid social media influencer in the world, with every sponsored post on Instagram raking in over $1 million dollars. Forbes Magazine estimated that one of the top reasons she managed to become a billionaire so fast due to her cosmetic empire is down to her enormous Instagram following.
